Shared values, equality, democracy and civil society are among the priorities of the Nordic Council of Ministers’ “Vision 2030”. In order to strengthen cooperation between Latvia and the Nordic countries in these areas, our team has been joined by a new colleague with previous experience in promoting resilience and social cohesion across the Baltic States.
Katrīna Vītola, Senior Advisor on Equality and Civil Society, has previously worked for the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office on Baltic resilience programme aimed at strengthening social cohesion and societal resilience. She has experience working with the media, non-governmental organisations, as well as education and culture, consistently viewing these fields as an integral part of fostering social cohesion.
Katrīna holds postgraduate degrees in Strategic Communications and in Educational Management. In addition, she has worked with European Union programmes focused on inclusion and diversity. She joins our team with the aim of strengthening cooperation between Latvia and the Nordic countries in the areas of equality and societal resilience. Her knowledge and expertise will be a valuable contribution to the development of new initiatives and the implementation of our shared goals.
We warmly welcome Katrīna to the team and wish her every success in her new role.
